Desktop basics
Working in MintJams CMS starts from the virtual desktop (Webtop) in your browser. You open apps as windows and arrange them freely. This page covers the basics common to every app.
Signing in
Open the server URL in a browser and sign in with your username and password. For the first time, see "First sign-in & the desktop".
The screen
- Top bar — menus, account, global actions
- Desktop — the work area where app windows are placed
- Dock — launch and switch between frequently used apps
- Status bar — status display and supporting actions
Opening & arranging apps
- Open an app from the menu or the Dock
- The app appears as a window
- Drag the title bar to move it, drag the edges to resize
- Use minimize / maximize / close on each window
Working with multiple windows
Open several apps at once and adjust their position and size to work in parallel. For example, design a process in BPMN Modeler while monitoring BPM Console next to it and keeping Tasks open behind.
Some apps (Dashboard and the various consoles) are singletons — only one instance can be open at a time.
Saving & restoring your session
If you save your session when signing out, your window layout is restored at the next sign-in, carrying your working desk over as it was. Saved sessions can be managed in Preferences.
Changing language & theme
From the Preferences app, each user can set the display language, time zone, number/currency formats, theme (Light / Dark / Auto) and wallpaper. See "Preferences".
